LISA SOTILIS ONE OF A KIND SCULPTURES AND JEWELRY

Pubblicato il 09 luglio 2014 alle 11.20

From the jewelry of ancient Vergi to the  modern jewelry of Lisa Sotilis at the Archaeological Museum of Serres, Greece

As the ancient jewels of Vergi (in the Macedonia region of Greece), exposed at the Archaeological Museum of Serres, Greece, captivate the public with their glamour, elegance and beauty, so does, under the same roof, the present exhibition of Lisa Sotilis’s contemporary jewels. It is a fascinating encounter of distant epochs of the goldsmith’s art, bound by a common message: the universal power of the Hellenic artistic spirit and genius.

The exhibition, organized by the Hellenic Ministry of Culture and Sport, Ephorate of Prehistoric and Classical Antiquities, Region of Central Macedonia, Regional Unity of Serres, with the collaboration of the Municipality of Serres, was inaugurated on November 16, 2013 by Ioannis Moisiadis, Vice Governor of Central Macedonia and Petros Angelidis the Mayor of the city of Serres.

The art show is curated by Pierre Kaloussian Velissiotis, art expert and international art dealer and Giovanna dalla Chiesa, art historian and critic.

It is produced by Eleftheria Gkoufa, a collaborator at the prestigious Benaki Museum in Athens, Greece.

This unique art event, wouldn’t be possible without the generous sponsorship and the active collaboration of Mr. Pino Villella, the O.V.S. VILLELLA CEO and, his dedicated employees.

The catalog of the exhibition is dedicated to General Napoleone Sotilis, Lisa’s grandfather, who was the liberator of Serres and many other cities in Northern Greece.
